A pair of these chairs, painted white, is currently featured on a high-end website for $3,500. Imagine your savings with this one, at a mere $185. This heavy cast-iron garden chair is of a mid-19th century blended style, Rococo mixed with hints of neoclassicism (note the lyre back splats). Heavy foliage scrolls and cabriole legs bring out the Rococo style. While these are not marked, it is highly likely this chair was cast in the 1850s by the Robert Wood foundry of Philadelphia, as it bears all of the hallmarks of the design. Also, this rare armchair is the only illustrated example in Horner's Blue Book of Philadelphia Furniture.
